Steve is an accomplished long-distance runner that has represented Australia at the 1986 Commonwealth Games where he won a bronze medal, as well as having competed in the marathon at the Olympic Games in Sydney, Atlanta, Barcelona and Seoul.
Among his many race accolades, he won the Tokyo Marathon, the marathon at the Commonwealth Games and Sydney’s iconic 14 km City 2 Surf no less than four times in a row – setting the course record of 40:03 in 1991.
He is now a personal development consultant with the Ministry of Education and chair of the Victorian Review into Physical and Sport Education in Schools.
